Certificate in Real Estate Finance, Investments and Development offered by the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate and the Office of Corporate & Professional Education.
Developed by the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate in collaboration with the University's Office of Corporate and Professional Education, the certificate program is designed for real estate and building industry professionals who want to round out their knowledge base.
The program's courses are taught by local industry experts with new courses offered monthly on a variety of essential industry topics, including: the real estate development process; investment and income analysis; legal aspects of real estate; property management; tax considerations; leasing; and title insurance.
NEW courses for 2008 include Urban Development, Marketing & Sales for the Real Estate Industry and Introduction and Opportunities in Mexican Real Estate
Professionals take one course at a time, and can either elect to take only specific courses of professional interest within the program or complete the program to earn the Certificate in Real Estate Finance, Investments and Development. Program participants who complete all of the six required core courses and at least two of the elective courses graduate with a certificate of completion.
About the Program
The program consists of six (6) core courses and various electives.
- Each course is 12-hours long, and will meet four consecutive weeks from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The day of the week is noted in the schedule below.
- To earn the program certificate, you will need to complete the six core courses, plus a minimum of two electives.
- All classes will be held on USD's campus in the Douglas F. Manchester Executive Conference Center.
- The cost of each course (core and/or elective) is $450 (per 12-hour course).
- Credit from these courses cannot be transferred to USD's Master of Science in Real Estate degree. This is a certificate program meant to enhance your personal and professional development.
