Program Information

CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS

For the Certificate in Event Management from the University of San Diego and the George Washington University, the following requirements must be completed and submitted to USD by October 15, 2008:

  1. Successfully complete four core courses and three electives (totaling 84 hours).

  2. Complete a minimum of 100 hours of practicum experience with one or more Event Management organizations and complete the experience forms.

  3. Submit a professional portfolio that documents an actual event you have managed or helped coordinate. Guidance and materials are provided to help develop your portfolio, and examples of previous outstanding portfolios are available.

  4. Enroll into the Certificate program online.

Certificates are awarded at a gala commencement ceremony held each year, featuring a noted industry leader and is open to family, friends and employers. Graduation will be held Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at 6:00pm.
